We are excited to announce that the Holland Hydrogen Hub will participate in WETEX 2025.

Taking place from 30 September – 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

As part of the newly launched Delegation Zone, Holland Hydrogen Hub will organise a dedicated B2G engagement session , connecting the Dutch hydrogen ecosystem directly with leading UAE decision-makers, including representatives from DEWA, RTA, ENOC, EMPOWER, EWEC, TAQA, Masdar, Acwa Power , and more.

This high-level session will feature company introductions, structured networking, and direct exchanges designed to foster meaningful dialogue and new partnerships .

It’s not every day you get the opportunity to brief both a King and a Sultan on your work in the energy transition.

As part of the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman to the Netherlands, we had the honour - together with William Janssen, Ted Straten, and Robert Jan Berg - to present our demonstration project to Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
At Holland Hydrogen Hub, we’re enabling cross-border business opportunities to accelerate the development of the clean hydrogen value chain. This particular project—carried out in collaboration with Hydrom, OQ, and a number of our our H3 partners—aims to showcase how an integrated suite of groundbreaking technologies can produce, store, and transport hydrogen more efficiently and sustainably.

A Night of Innovation and Momentum at the Hydrogen Future Awards

Marcel Kooter , co- founder of the Holland Hydrogen Hub (H3) had the honor of presenting the Hydrogen Future Awards at the Connecting HydrogenMENA 2025 gala dinner, an evening of innovation, inspiration, and momentum towards a global hydrogen economy. The event brought together industry leaders like ACWA Power , NEOM Green Hydrogen Company , ADNOC Group , Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) , OQ Alternative Energy, and EMSTEEL Group , all driving transformative progress.

In his speech, Marcel highlighted a key challenge: Deloitte 's latest research shows green hydrogen costs in Europe have surged to
€ 8-14/kg, reinforcing MENA’s crucial role in providing cost-competitive, scalable hydrogen solutions.

It was inspiring to celebrate the outstanding contributions of the award winners, including ETAP, Burckhardt Compression , Gulf Cryo , Linde Engineering , Trina Green Hydrogen , NEOM , ADNOC Group , and more.

The Holland Hydrogen Hub (H3), with nearly 50 partners promotes advanced competitive green hydrogen production and transport solutions from the Middle East to Europe. From ammonia and synthetic methane to LOHC and solid hydrogen carriers, these innovations are leveraging existing infrastructure to enable a seamless and faster energy transition.

The solutions are diverse and rapidly evolving, including:
Gaseous and liquid hydrogen, ammonia – supported by multiple partners in the Holland Hydrogen Hub initiative.
- Synthetic methane (e-NG) – developed by TES , enabling hydrogen integration into existing LNG infrastructure.
- e-SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) – advanced by Advario , creating a viable path for decarbonizing aviation.
- Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) – pioneered by Voyex , allowing safe and scalable hydrogen transport.
- Solid hydrogen – being developed by H2Fuel , opening new frontiers in energy storage and transport.

With MENA’s momentum stronger than ever, the region is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of hydrogen.

Cluster Member Meeting in Hotel New York and onboard of the vessel "Nieuwe Maze"

On the afternoon of Friday, October 11th, we had the pleasure to host our Holland Hydrogen Hub, PIB Hydrogen Gulf Cluster Member meeting in the Port of Rotterdam. Most of our 42 members, as well as some extra guests, gathered for lunch in the historic Hotel New York, the former head office of the Holland America Line.

A huge THANK YOU to Port of Rotterdam for helping make this a memorable event onboard the beautiful vessel Nieuwe Maze!

Seeing the port from the water was truly special and we were lucky to catch some autumn sunshine on the deck of the vessel.

Big thanks to Erik van der Heijden of Port of Rotterdam and the Nieuwe Maze Crew, you were amazing hosts!

Ammar Nemat from DEKRA and John Moreland Lynn from Invest Energy, your presentations and insights were invaluable, sparking meaningful discussions among all attendees.

A special thank you to Lydia Aalpoel and Gazizah Bahmany from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO for your ongoing support and for arranging this wonderful lunch at the iconic Hotel New York. This historic setting added a perfect touch to our day.

Once large quantities of green Hydrogen, Ammonia, Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers and Solid Hydrogen Carriers will be imported to and stored in the Netherlands and the German “hinterland” we will have achieved our objectives and this gathering will be remembered as a small step which has contributed to our common goals.

On July 4th our H#PIB Cluster Partner Port of Amsterdam will be hosting the seminar "Making Hydrogen Import Corridors a Reality" the Symposium will start with visits to a number of H2A Hydrogen Amsterdam member companies and will continue with a Symposium in Theater Amsterdam in the afternoon.

His Excellency Salim al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman will be one of the high level delegates who will attend. If you are interested in the Hydrom Initiative in Oman this is the opportunity to meet H.E. Al Aufi and his team and discuss this with them.
